Professor of Psychiatry (Turkey)
Professor Fusun Cetin Cuhadaroğlu, most prominent expert of psychiatry from Turkey, will discuss about her areas of expertise in Congress Symposiums.
Prof. Dr. Füsun Çuhadaroğlu, after completing her medical, general psychiatry and child/adolescent psychiatry training at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey, studied Adolescent Psychiatry in U.K. and did a visiting fellowship at Children’s Hospital , Boston, and a research fellowship on NIH-Fogarty International Center Mental Health & Developmental Disorders Program. She had further training in individual and group psychodynamic psychotherapy. She and her colleagues founded the Turkish Association for CAP and by their efforts CAP was established as a separate discipline in Turkey in 1998.
She organized the 18 th Congress of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions – IACAPAP (2008) and Regional Conference of the International Society for Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology – ISAPP (2013), taught courses on the International Certificate Program of the International Children’s Center (ICC) and worked on the WHO – team developing CAP program in Albania.
She directed and participated in projects supported by NIH-FIC, UNFPA, UNICEF, World Bank and Willow Foundation . Currently, she is a faculty member of Hacettepe University , Ankara, chairing the Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic at İhsan Doğramacı Children’s Hospital, member of the Editorial Board of the journal Adolescent Psychiatry and Board of ESCAP(European Society for CAP), and is also vice president of ISAPP and Secretary- General of IACAPAP. Her major area of study is developmental adolescent psychiatry and her publications cover the subjects of identity confusion, self-image problems, suicide attempts, self-injury, eating disorders, ADHD and child abuse.
