Stojan Bajraktarov

Professor of Psychiatry, WPA Board Member (Macedonia)

Stojan Bajraktarov, most prominent professor of psychiatry from Macedonia, will discuss about his areas of expertise in Pre Congress Forum and Congress Symposiums.

Stojan Bajraktarov is Associate professor at the Medical Faculty of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, as well as the Head of the Department for depressive disorders at University Clinic of Psychiatry in Skopje, Macedonia. He obtained both his medical degree and his psychiatric specialty training also at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and continued his education in fields such as psychotherapy or polysomnography at the institutions all around Europe.

Currently, Prof. Bajraktarov is the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) Zone Representative for Central Europe and a Board member of WPA. He is also the National Coordinator for Mental health of South Eastern Europe (SEE) Health Network.

Prof. Bajraktarov has also worked as a Project Officer at World Health Organization (WHO), Regional Office EURO and Country Office Skopje. He has served as an expert for various WHO projects and SEE Mental Health Project and a Representative of the Government of Republic of Macedonia.

His work consists of more than 50 scientific publications including several books. Apart from psychiatry, his field of interest is sleep medicine.
